Year 8 - 2014

2014 brought 62 amazing campers and 102 staff, our largest camp to date! Our camp was selected to participate in the “Hope Index”, a nationwide survey which compared how our campers experienced hope prior to and after camp. The results were astounding! Our kids felt significantly more hopeful in their lives after camp!

There was another measure of hope that was increased as our dream for holding a camp for teens was realized! The first TRAC camp, led by Harold and Bev Reyna, allowed us to continue building into the lives of our campers after they graduated RFK! Year round mentoring and the RFK / MTRAC Christmas Party kept us growing together all year round!

Camp SOTO: One young lady who attended Royal Family KIDS for several years and came to our first Milwaukee Teen Reach Adventure Camp shared, “When I came to Royal Family, it was the first place I felt truly loved. When camp would end, I would feel happy for about a month after camp. People would ask me, ‘Why are you so happy?’ I would say, ‘I just am.’ Then life would get hard for me again, but I always had next year’s camp or club to look forward to. I would know that I wasn’t alone and I’d be with people who loved me.”
