Year 11 - 2017

2017 was an incredible year! We welcomed 70 amazing campers and 99 volunteers, including our first former camper serving on staff!  Salayia was an inspiration to all of our campers as she performed in the Drama and encouraged them at the Tea Party! We were so proud to have seen her go first through our camps, then on to Teen Reach and now to be serving on staff at RFK!  What a proud moment for all of us!

Our camp verse was “”Trust in the Lord with all your heart: do not lean on your own understanding. See His will in all you do and He will direct your path.” This was a verse we needed to cling to! Our campground had asked us to move our date from the third week in July to late June.  This was something we really didn’t want to do, so we began exploring other campgrounds.  After an extensive search, we realized our best option was to stay right where we were and trust God to provide all that we needed in a shorter timeline.  It ended up being one of our smoothest running camps because we had almost the entire campground to ourselves!  We also reached a camp milestone of serving more than 500 campers that year! Praise God for His faithfulness!

CAMP SOTO: God was also teaching our campers to trust Him! One new 7 year old camper wrote…"Dear  I thank you for letting me see another day and I love you. I will follow you always and in my struggles I will trust you. (Dametria, Planet Earth)"
